The Intrepid Museum is currently seeking a Venue Sales & Events Coordinator. The Venue Sales & Events Coordinator is responsible for planning and managing third-party client events while actively generating event sales. This role combines administrative oversight with hands-on operational execution to ensure successful event delivery and revenue growth.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Event Management Duties
- Sales & Business Development:
- Respond in a timely manner to event inquiries and convert them into confirmed bookings
- Prepare proposals, conduct site visits and negotiate to book events
- Execute contracts and invoices and collect payments in a timely manner
- Proactively network within the events industry to drive referrals
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales revenue goals
- Build and generate sales by attending industry meetings, networking events and client retention
- Follow up with the client after the event
- Event Planning and Operations:
- Develop a strong understanding of the complexity of various event types and the diverse needs of clients
- Develop detailed event production notes to ensure successful execution.
- Coordinate with all vendors
- Provide onsite supervision of events
- Direct and supervise staff in preparing spaces during special events load-in/set-up, event execution, and load-out/breakdown
- Ensure compliance with venue policies
- Determine and execute appropriate responses to problems and emergencies during events, handle customer complaints
- Perform other duties as required by management
Qualified candidates will have BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university with one year related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient computer knowledge and ability to organize and manage multiple tasks. Write correspondence and reports and speak effectively before employees of organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to liaise with a variety of technical and operational personnel. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as in a team. Ability to work weekends, holidays and evenings as necessary

Salary : $60,000 - $62,000
