The Pharmacy Store Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations, staff management, and retail execution of the licensed medical cannabis pharmacy under the direction of the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). This role ensures efficient, compliant, and customer-focused operations while maintaining adherence to the Utah Medical Cannabis Act, applicable administrative rules, and company policies.

The Store Manager supports the PIC by ensuring operational standards are executed consistently, staff are trained and performing effectively, inventory systems are accurate, and patients receive a safe, professional, and efficient pharmacy experience

  • 2–4 years of retail management experience, preferably in a regulated environment (pharmacy, healthcare, or cannabis preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Experience with POS systems and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to operate in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in patient-facing healthcare settings.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a criminal background check.

Working Conditions and Basic Requirements:

  • Retail pharmacy environment operating under strict regulatory oversight.
  • May require standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional lifting of inventory or supplies (up to 40–50 lbs).
  • Exposure to cannabis products and related materials in a controlled environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to follow safety and operational instructions.
  • Repetitive motion tasks and frequent use of hands/arms may be required.

Primary Responsibilities – Store Manager:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy front-of-house operations to ensure efficient workflow, compliance, and high-quality patient service.
  • Support the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in implementing and maintaining all pharmacy policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Supervise, schedule, and manage Pharmacy Leads, Pharmacy Agents, and support staff in their daily operational duties.
  • Ensure a professional, welcoming, and compliant environment for all patients, caregivers, and staff.
  • Assist in ensuring Pharmacy Agents properly follow dispensing procedures as directed by the PIC and licensed pharmacy personnel.
  • Monitor patient flow, reduce wait times, and optimize service efficiency without compromising compliance or safety.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, daily balancing, deposits, and operational reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure accurate use of point-of-sale (POS) and seed-to-sale tracking systems in coordination with compliance requirements.
  • Support inventory processes including receiving, stocking, cycle counts, reconciliation, and discrepancy reporting under PIC oversight.
  • Ensure pharmacy appearance, cleanliness, security, and merchandising standards are consistently maintained.
  • Implement and reinforce staff training programs in collaboration with the PIC and leadership team.
  • Address patient service concerns, escalations, and operational issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales performance, conversion rates, and operational efficiency metrics.
  • Maintain strong communication with the PIC regarding staffing needs, operational challenges, and compliance concerns.
  • Ensure security protocols are followed to protect patients, staff, and controlled inventory.
  • Serve as an operational leader during inspections, audits, and regulatory visits as directed by the PIC.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support pharmacy operations and business needs.

Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
