SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As an Accounts Payable Manager, you will drive the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of the Accounts Payable function by optimizing processes, leveraging technology, and developing a high-performing team. You will play a key role in supporting the Company’s financial operations through strong leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end Accounts Payable function in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payment execution, financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient operations. This role partners closely with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Procurement to support business objectives while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead the Accounts Payable team and oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring timely, accurate processing of invoices, two-way/three-way matching, invoice coding, exception resolution, and payment processing (ACH, wire, and check)
- Partner with Treasury to coordinate payment timing, support cash flow management, and banking activities related to vendor payments while ensuring compliance with Company policies and payment controls
- Lead process improvement, automation, and ERP implementation or system optimization initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, enhance the vendor experience, and support scalable growth
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties, 1099 reporting, SOX requirements, and audit standards
- Analyze Accounts Payable data and performance metrics, including invoice aging, payment timeliness, exception rates, duplicate payments, vendor inquiries, and month-end close performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Provide outstanding customer service to managers, employees, and vendors by responding professionally and promptly to Accounts Payable inquiries
- Recruit, develop, mentor, coach, and evaluate Accounts Payable staff, fostering accountability, professional growth, and high performance while addressing performance issues and recommending appropriate personnel actions
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment, including 3-5 years leading Accounts Payable teams with responsibility for employee development, coaching, performance management, and operational results
- Experience working within large, complex organizations; publicly traded company experience is preferred
- Construction, infrastructure, utilities, field services, or other decentralized operational environment experience is preferred
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint and Viewpoint Spectrum is preferred; experience with comparable ERP systems and Accounts Payable workflow platforms is also considered
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, payment controls, internal controls, audit support, segregation of duties, 1099 reporting, and SOX compliance principles
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, assess risks, and implement practical solutions
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, build collaborative relationships across departments, influence stakeholders, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
