Intra Mortgage is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven Mortgage Loan Officer to originate residential mortgage loans and provide borrowers with knowledgeable, responsive, and professional guidance throughout the financing process.
The Mortgage Loan Officer will identify borrower needs, evaluate available loan options, develop referral relationships, and manage each loan from initial consultation through closing. The ideal candidate is a motivated business builder who values customer service, regulatory compliance, collaboration, and long-term professional growth.
This is a full-time, hybrid position serving the state of Ohio, KY, PA, CO, IA, FL, TX, MN.
- Develop and maintain relationships with borrowers, real estate professionals, builders, financial professionals, and other referral partners.
- Generate new mortgage business through prospecting, networking, referrals, community involvement, and relationship-based sales activities.
- Consult with prospective borrowers to understand their financial circumstances, homeownership goals, and financing needs.
- Educate borrowers about available mortgage products, loan programs, interest-rate options, estimated costs, and qualification requirements.
- Assist borrowers with completing mortgage applications and gathering the documentation required for loan processing.
- Review borrower-provided financial information for accuracy and completeness before submitting loan files for processing and underwriting.
- Maintain consistent communication with borrowers, referral partners, processors, underwriters, closers, and other members of the lending team.
- Monitor assigned loans throughout the origination process and proactively address documentation needs, potential delays, and borrower concerns.
- Accurately maintain borrower information, loan activity, and required documentation within company systems.
- Deliver a professional and responsive client experience from the initial consultation through closing and post-closing follow-up.
- Comply with all applicable federal and state laws, licensing requirements, investor guidelines, company policies, and ethical lending standards.
- Complete required training and remain informed about mortgage products, market conditions, lending guidelines, and regulatory changes.
- At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of residential mortgage lending, loan origination, and the overall mortgage process.
- Demonstrated ability to develop referral relationships and generate new business.
- Strong sales, communication, customer-service, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to explain mortgage products, loan requirements, and financial information clearly and professionally.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple borrowers and loan files in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative lending team.
- Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems, customer relationship management platforms, and standard business technology is preferred.
- Active and valid mortgage loan originator license in the applicable state or states, or the ability to obtain all required licensing before performing licensed activities.
- Ability to satisfy applicable background-check, education, testing, sponsorship, and continuing-education requirements.
