Role • Software-focused integration and system testing • Validate backend software with automation hardware • Test the software of robot, conveyor, crane, material handling systems • Not commissioning, controls programming, mechanical, or technician work What You’ll Do • Execute provided test cases (mostly black-box) • Run subsystem tests and full system tests • Troubleshoot failures using logs and system data • Isolate issues and hand off to software developers • Support customer training (operators, admins, support teams) • Remote support when not onsite Technical Environment • Java-based backend software • Java EE • Oracle Weblogic, Oracle DB, MYSQL • Linux • Windows Server • Scripting Languages • Web Interface Testing • XML • SOAP / SOAP UI • Testing RESTful Web Services • Windows Server (some Linux) • Web-based automation platforms • ERP and host system integrations • Database query knowledge is a plus Background • Software or software test engineering background • Automation, robotics, or industrial systems experience • Strong troubleshooting skills • Detail oriented • Comfortable with travel and non-development software role • Experience with the implementation of automated material handling and logistics systems. • Solid understanding of information systems and engineering theory and the project life cycle for material handling systems. • Sound application knowledge of automated material handling equipment such as AS/RS, pallet and case conveyors, sorters, AGV’s, monorails Experience testing Java and C# applications. • Experience with Test and Integration platforms such as SonarQube; Jenkins • Experience with JUnit • Module testing • Web application testing • Web Interface testing • Client Server environments • Automated test tools and testing frameworks such as Selenium • Experience with source / revision control systems such as Subversion (SVN), CVS.
