Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and support large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Python, SQL, Kafka, Spark, AWS, and cloud data engineering with experience building scalable, event-driven data solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in Data Engineering or Application Engineering
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, and SQL
- Experience building batch and real-time data pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, EMR, or similar distributed data technologies
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (AWS preferred)
- Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or similar
- Experience with CI/CD and Agile development environments
- Knowledge of data observability, monitoring, alerting, SLA tracking, and data quality
- Experience with Secrets Management (AWS Secrets Manager, Vault, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Banking or Financial Services experience
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming data platforms
- Experience with enterprise-scale cloud data platforms
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines
- Build scalable event-driven data solutions using Kafka and distributed processing technologies
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for enterprise data platforms
- Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver end-to-end data engineering solutions
- Implement workflow orchestration and pipeline automation
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across data platforms
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
