Role IT Cloud Infrastructure Administrator
Duration Full Time
Location Buffalo, NY (Hybrid – must be local)
Must Haves:
- 7 years total IT experience

At least 5 years with hybrid cloud environments (specifically on-prem Azure)
- Microsoft Azure IaaS - hands-on experience with:
· Virtual networks
· Virtual machines
· Storage solutions
· Security controls
- Virtualization - Proven experience with:
· VMware OR Hyper-V (at least one, both is bonus)
- Identity Management - Active experience with:
· Active Directory
· Azure AD (Entra ID)
· Hybrid identity solutions
- Windows Server Administration - Strong background required
- PowerShell - Demonstrated proficiency with scripting and automation (not just basic knowledge)
- Networking Fundamentals - Working knowledge of:
· DNS
· DHCP
· VPNs
· Firewalls
- Backup & Disaster Recovery - Hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions
- Infrastructure Security - Understanding of:
· Server hardening
· Vulnerability management
· Patch management
· Compliance requirements
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the administration, security, and optimization of hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises and Microsoft Azure IaaS environments, including virtual networks, VMs, storage, and security controls
- Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions for servers and critical systems, ensuring regular testing and validation
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V) and hybrid identity solutions, including Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy administration
- Drive infrastructure security initiatives including server hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and access controls in alignment with company policies and compliance requirements
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance to proactively ensure uptime, scalability, and optimal resource utilization across all environments
- Serve as escalation point for the IT Service Desk team and coordinate incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- Support core networking services including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall integrations while troubleshooting connectivity issues across hybrid environments
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and system diagrams while evaluating infrastructure improvements and cost-optimization opportunities
- Coordinate vendor relationships and support infrastructure-related projects, migrations, and modernization initiatives
What You'll Need to Have:
- 7 years of IT experience with at least 5 years supporting hybrid cloud environments, specifically Windows Server, virtualization, and Microsoft Azure IaaS
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure administration including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage, and security controls
- Proven experience managing virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper-V) and hybrid identity solutions (Active Directory, Azure AD)
- Solid understanding of infrastructure security best practices, including server hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance-driven environments
- Demonstrated proficiency with infrastructure automation and scripting using PowerShell
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, infrastructure monitoring tools, and Microsoft 365 infrastructure components
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of working independently in fast-paced, dynamic environments
