Position: CONTROL M Consultant

Location: 100% remote

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Control-M Administrator with strong experience in Shell Scripting and Python to manage and optimize our enterprise job scheduling environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining batch job workflows, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of scheduled tasks across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain the Control-M environment, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.

Design, develop, and manage batch job schedules, calendars, and workflows using Control-M.

Develop and maintain Shell scripts and Python scripts to automate job processes and system tasks.

Monitor job execution, troubleshoot failures, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to integrate Control-M with various systems and applications.

Implement best practices for job scheduling, including error handling, logging, and alerting.

Maintain documentation for job schedules, processes, and procedures.

Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during off-hours as needed.

Required Qualifications:

15 years of hands-on experience with Control-M administration.

Strong proficiency in Shell Scripting (Bash, KornShell, etc.).

Solid experience with Python for automation and data processing tasks.

Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.

Experience with Control-M APIs and integrations (REST API, CLI).

Understanding of ITIL processes and job scheduling best practices.

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Strong communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Control-M Automation API and Control-M Workload Archiving.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and hybrid scheduling environments.

Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible).

Experience with database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

Control-M certification is a plus.
