Interwest Safety Supply is the largest manufacturer of roadway signage in the Intermountain West and a leading distributor of traffic safety supplies to road contractors and state governments. The company operates from five facilities located in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada, with sign manufacturing plants located in Utah and Arizona.
SUMMARY
The Estimator is responsible for researching, coordinating, and building quotes for products, rentals and services that we provide to the highway safety industry. This includes traffic signs, crash cushions, traffic control products and other highway safety products. Estimator must read plans, schematics and project documentation and build accurate and competitive quote based on current state requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Search, review, download, and print bidding information for upcoming projects
- Review and analyze specifications, drawings, tables and plans
- Analyze and understand current material costs and trends
- Build comprehensive quotes for upcoming projects
- Work with purchasing department on getting the best price for materials
- Work with sales team to distribute quotes and respond to customer needs and market changes
- Assist all branches with bidding and product information
- Assist with branch inventory organization, tracking, and record keeping
- Assist with any other sales related tasks and other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must understand drawings/blue prints and be able to perform take-offs
- 1-3 years proven success in construction, traffic control or infrastructure industries
- Strong presentation and communication skills, especially written
- Strong basic mathematical skills
- Must be results-driven, work independently and have a positive “make it work” attitude
- High energy and self-motivated
- Team focused and support the company direction
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to—computer estimating, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
