Job Summary
We are an interventional pain management practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic workflows, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in an outpatient clinic atmosphere with floating opportunities from front desk, billing, scheduling, to interventional procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits.
- Support clinical procedures such as medication administration, X-ray imaging, and basic life support when needed.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient information accurately and updating medical records promptly.
- Conduct patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and follow-up care to promote health literacy.
- Perform administrative duties including front desk receptionist, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, ICD coding for diagnoses, and managing patient flow in outpatient or inpatient settings
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical procedures.
- Experience working in hospital environments or outpatient clinics with exposure to emergency medicine or urgent care settings.
- Proficiency in using Athena and understanding ICD coding for accurate documentation.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray support, and basic life support certification.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients.
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
