Lead Medical Assistant – Pain Management Practice
Location: Addison and Frisco, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time Mon-Friday (hours vary)
Established and growing pain management practice in the Addison and Frisco area is seeking a skilled, motivated Lead Medical Assistant to join our vibrant team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced MA who enjoys a fun, fast-paced clinical environment and is looking for long-term growth with an established practice.
The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, organized, and comfortable taking initiative while helping support both providers and the medical assistant team.
Key Responsibilities
The Lead Medical Assistant will help oversee daily clinical workflow and assist with patient care, including:
- Rooming patients and obtaining accurate vitals, medication lists, allergies, and medical history
- Preparing patients for office visits, procedures, and follow-up appointments
- Assisting providers during exams and in-office procedures
- Supporting pain management workflows, including procedure preparation, injections, urine drug screens, medication monitoring, and documentation
- Coordinating with providers, front office, surgery scheduling, and authorization teams to keep patient care moving efficiently
- Reviewing charts for completeness and helping ensure documentation is accurate and timely
- Training, mentoring, and supporting other medical assistants
- Helping maintain clinical supplies, procedure rooms, exam rooms, and medication inventory
- Communicating with patients in a professional, compassionate, and respectful manner
- Assisting with lab orders, imaging orders, referrals, prescription requests, and patient follow-up tasks as needed
- Helping leadership identify ways to improve clinical workflow and patient experience
· Maintains a pleasant and comfortable environment for employees to grow and learn while helping plan employee appreciation events for staff
Qualifications
- Prior Medical Assistant experience required (at least 1 year)
- Pain management, orthopedics, spine, neurology, surgery, or procedure-based clinic experience preferred
- Lead MA or supervisory experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
- Comfortable working with EHR systems (Athena)
- Professional, team-oriented, and patient-focused attitude
- Reliable transportation to work in the Addison and Frisco area as needed
