We are looking for a Material Handler to add to our team on 2nd shift (3:30pm - 2am Monday - Thursday)
Job Summary & Essential Functions
The Material Handler will maintain the flow of material from receiving to storage to production to shipping with a high focus on receiving.
- Prepare and provide proper documentation
- Pull material from stock to provide the material necessary for an assigned job
- Transact materials to update the business system
- Physically receive all incoming material, opening packages, crates, and checking material for visible damage
- Verify parts and part numbers against packing list to ensure accuracy and notify supervisor of all discrepancies
- Deliver items to incoming quality inspection, if applicable, and all other material to proper storage areas
- Deliver the parts to the designated work centers or staging areas, ensuring timely response to any deadlines or ship dates
- Handle, store, pack, label, and distribute material using proper techniques to ensure no damage to the material as well as to ensure inventory accuracy
- Rearrange storage area as necessary to accommodate varying parts, components and finished stock while maintaining storage area in a clean and orderly condition
- Prepare and package products to ship, by adhering to specific packaging instructions
- Complete shipping activities to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries to recipients
- Support the first in first out practices while storing all inventory items
- Assist in enforcing all processes so that only authorized personnel can receive or distribute materials to or from stock
- Assist in entering data into the business system daily, support and maintain any documentation systems
- Adhere to the General Requirements for Team Members
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Beginner level in MS Office applications (Word and Excel) and computers
- Ability to operate equipment required to pack and move products
- Knowledge of proper techniques for lifting and carrying
- Ability to work in a high volume, high detail work environment
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
- Abilities listed in General Requirements for Team Members
Required Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of relevant job experience
