We are seeking an experienced, hands-on HR Generalist for our sister company, RPM Industries in Washington, PA


With support from the corporate location in Mt. Pleasant, PA, the Human Resources Generalist will serve as the primary HR partner for RPM Industries in Washington, PA. As the organization continues to integrate with corporate HR support, this role will play a critical part in helping employees and leaders navigate organizational change while delivering exceptional HR service.


This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building trust, supporting employees through change, and partnering with leadership to create a positive, engaged workplace. The HR Generalist will manage the full employee lifecycle while serving as the local HR presence for approximately 100 employees in a manufacturing environment.


This position requires a strong on-site presence, especially during the transition period, to build relationships, provide employee support, and partner closely with site leadership. A hybrid schedule may be considered in the future once business needs allow.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and leaders at the Washington, PA facility.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and leadership by maintaining a visible, approachable HR presence.
  • Support employees through organizational changes by providing clear communication, guidance, and coaching.
  • Partner with managers to address employee relations concerns, conduct investigations, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, employee development, benefits administration, leaves of absence, and separations.
  • Educate employees and managers on company policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices.
  • Administer employee benefit programs and assist employees with benefit-related questions.
  • Prepare and review biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Review timekeeping records, attendance, and payroll discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data integrity.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation, onboarding activities, required documentation, and safety training.
  • Support recruiting efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions as needed.
  • Manage unemployment claims, workers' compensation claims, and related documentation.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits, EEO reporting, compliance requirements, and other HR metrics.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, training, and company events.
  • Partner with Corporate HR and site leadership to implement HR initiatives and support overall business objectives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions across the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience processing payroll.
  • Experience navigating organizational change, acquisitions, mergers, or business integration efforts is highly preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ADP is preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.

  • Ability to build credibility and establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced payroll administration knowledge.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Corporate HR and site leadership.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
