Position Description
Title: Production Maintenance Tech
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Status: Non-Exempt Hourly
Position Purpose: Provides maintenance support for the plant.
Principle Accountabilities
- Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment including replacing motors, relays, and switches on varied machinery up to and including three phases 480-volt energy.
- Performs preventive maintenance and maintains records to ensure safe, reliable equipment.
- Serves as point person for production personnel in regard to preventative maintenance and problem equipment troubleshooting.
- Diagnoses and repair forklifts, pumps, hydraulics, and other related equipment
- Maintains and refills parts inventory
- Provides prompt response to and resolution of unplanned equipment failures resulting in production down time.
- Effectively communicates with machine operators and supervisors including equipment issues and safety concerns and in fractions.
- Properly utilize Personal Protective Equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience
- 5 Years in Industrial Maintenance required.
- Extensive knowledge troubleshooting and issue resolution of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, circuitry, PLC, AC/DC drives, and welding fabrication required.
- Intermediate math and computer skills and English written communication skills necessary.
- Demonstrates proper usage of personal protective equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, lifting up to 70 lbs., and work in hot environments on a constant basis.
- Ability to meet objectives and deadlines with minimum supervision required.
