Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The estimating department is responsible for producing project-specific construction estimates based on written and/or oral instructions from our clients. Your role in this process will be as follows:
- Develop accurate and timely electrical construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals for our client-base customers.
- Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
- Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.
- Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative.
- Draft scope letters, proposals and vendor solicitations.
- Attend job walks; pre-bid meetings; collaborations and conferences with clients and design professionals.
- Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed and calm manner.
Additional Essential Functions:
- Work alongside other estimators, project managers and project engineers on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects.
- Help create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- A high school diploma or GED is required, but additional education or experience in estimating, construction management, Finance or Business Administration or other equivalent studies is preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of Electrical Estimating experience preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience with the following software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook.
- Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations; Voltage-drop, Ohm’s law, conduit-fill, wire ampacity, de-rating, etc. is a plus
- Analytical, problem-solving mentality.
- Team player, self-motivated, gets along well with supervisors, peers and subordinates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Able to track and organize project and information.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts.
- Possesses sound judgement skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work.
- Willing to consider commercial electrical experience with the right candidate.

Travel:
This position will be based out of our Fort Collins, Colorado office. Travel is estimated at about 10% of the time around the Fort Collins area to occasional job sites.
