SUMMARY:
The Refrigeration Technician position will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing all aspects of the ammonia refrigeration system. Onsite hands-on training as well as ongoing continuing education will be provided for candidates based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safe and efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration system
- Preventative maintenance inspections and calibrations
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system problems
- Communication and coordination with PSM coordinator and site management
- Manage vendors and subcontractors as needed
- Responsible for maintaining and prioritizing system task list.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working on industrial refrigeration systems
- Attention to detail, organized, and strong troubleshooting skills
- Self-motivated, can work both independently and in a team environment
- Willing to help train and develop other technicians
- Must be able to pass requirements to wear a full-face respirator
PREFERRED SKILLS & TRAINING:
- Experience with controls, PLCs, and electrical schematics
- RETA certifications (CARO, CIRO, CRST, CRES)
- Familiarity with JCI/Frick Control systems & JCI/Frick screw compressors
- Microsoft Word & Excel proficiency
- Familiarity with industry governing codes and standards such as IIAR, ASHRAE, PSM, RMP
