What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Supervisor position at Interstate McBee?
Essential Functions:
- Supervises the functions and working of assigned receiving staff.
- Manage incoming receipts utilizing the staff and technology provided.
- Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices and safety conscious behavior.
- Continuously monitor the performance of activities in receiving area with a primary focus on customer expectation.
- Work closely with Quality Control on products being inspected and follow up with appropriate actions.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and external vendors to streamline internal receiving efficiencies.
- Attention to detail receive product accurately and timely.
- Ensure that employees practice good warehouse safety, housekeeping and department policies. Supervisor handles all department exceptions while maintaining a consistent workflow.
- Organizing and conducting necessary training activities for the employees.
- Coordinate efficient operation of the receiving area.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations, are followed.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Keep work area clean.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- 3 years of supervisory experience within a warehouse and distribution environment- preferably
- Previous experience in working with various material handling equipment such as RF scanners, or powered equipment.
- Efficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and other software.
- High energy level, ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.
- Displays willingness to make decisions timely, exhibits sound and accurate judgment and communicates changes effectively.
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and individuals of all levels within and outside the organization.
- Team building ability, self-motivation, able to work independently.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English to promote trainability and interpret work documents including manuals.
- Includes appropriate people in decision making process and supports/explains reasoning for decisions.
- Good communication skills. Resourceful and well organized.
- Basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals in order to read understand and operate measurement instruments and work documents.
- Ability to flex schedule as required.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
