As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will coach and lead a team of Software Engineering Leads and Technical Leads in a fast-paced environment. Software Engineering Leads are responsible for guiding a team of Software Engineers, and Technical Leads are responsible for providing architectural guidance. Software Engineers at IGS are involved in all phases of software development, from defining requirements to production releases. They are embedded in cross-functional teams of analysts, product managers, and testing staff, collectively striving to quickly deliver high-quality, high-value software. We work in an environment that encourages individual initiative, leadership at all levels, and team-based continuous improvement. At times you may be asked to balance hands-on development along with leadership responsibilities. However, your most important responsibility will be building a team that emphasizes a culture of excellence, high-performance, and continuous improvement. Requirements Provide strategic leadership for the Engineering department, fostering team morale, soft-skills development, and feedback collection from IT leaders. Work with Product Managers to ensure that engineering teams are aligned with the product roadmaps. Take on responsibilities related to product strategy, working closely with product managers, customers, and stakeholders to understand their needs and contribute to decisions on product roadmap. Guide and mentor other leaders and exemplify advanced leadership qualities to elevate our software engineering teams. Ensure that quality standards and project milestones are met by the engineering team. Influence and contribute to the feedback and career development process for all engineers in the organization. Drive the hiring process for engineers across the organization Drive the organization's technology direction, manage product interactions, and prioritize reducing tech debt strategically. Drive the completion of complex and high-stakes software projects. Champion the technical domain, prepare teams for future challenges, and promote holistic technology solutions. Demonstrate the capacity to solve problems at any level and prioritize empowering team members to become problem solvers themselves. Foster a collaborative culture based on IGS values, emphasizing "Goal over Role". Cultivate and uphold trust from team members, peers, and the organization as a whole. Lead continuous improvement programs for sustainable long-term growth. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience 10 years of experience as a software engineer required 3 years of experience leading a team of engineers required Enthusiastic self-starter capable of quickly taking ownership of features, applications, and systems Decisiveness, good judgment, analytical/math/strategic aptitude and problem-solving skills to act with authority and take risks in an environment with little direction from others Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary to interface with and influence all levels of the organization Knowledge of business analysis methodologies, procedures, and development tools Outstanding leadership, teamwork, mentorship, and development abilities Very strong technical skills, specifically an in-depth knowledge of C#, SQL, and web frameworks Deep understanding of application development, database design and system design Experience with Agile development LI-AM1 Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, a current or future need for sponsorship is not supported or available for this position. Salary Range: $127,480.00 - $203,970.00 *This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
