Job Overview
We are seeking an entry level dynamic and detail-oriented CAD Tech specializing in Product Development to join our innovative team. Your expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software and mechanical design principles will enable you to support the development of cutting-edge products from initial sketches to detailed schematics. Responsibilities
1) Create and maintain accurate drawings in PatternSmith CAD software for all components required to produce any item requested by an IFS customer.
2) Maintain a working knowledge of the various constructions developed for each individual customer.
3) Possess the skills necessary to develop product and drawings from any of the following sources provided by the customer:
a. Paper tracings
b. DXF files
c. Customer specification sheets
d. Dimensioned sketches
4) Possess and maintain skills necessary to use and operate digitizing equipment, Autometrix cutting equipment, and computers.
5) Maintain DXF database by creating files for new items and replacing files when changes are processed.
6) Create and maintain accurate product specification sheets for all products by customer utilizing software applications and AutoCAD software.
7) Provide and maintain drawings necessary to operate automated cutting equipment utilized at IFS.
Experience
- Proven experience working with CAD software such as AutoCAD, and product development in a construction environment.
- Strong background in mechanical design principles, drafting standards, and schematic creation.
- Familiarity with construction processes and how CAD models translate into real-world applications.
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards for schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams through detailed drafting tasks and model revisions.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into precise CAD documentation.
