Interstate Flooring is looking for a friendly, motivated Flooring Sales Associate to join our showroom team. If you enjoy helping customers transform their homes, have an eye for design, and thrive in a fast‐paced retail environment, this role is a great fit.
You’ll guide customers through flooring options, perform in‐home measurements, create hand‐drawn floor plans, and support projects from first conversation to final installation. This position blends customer service, sales, and hands‐on field work — perfect for someone who loves variety in their day.
What You'll Do
- Welcome customers, assess their needs, and provide personalized flooring recommendation
- Educate customers on flooring types, installation processes, maintenance, and sustainability benefits
- Perform in‐home measurements and create hand‐drawn floor plans
- Travel to job sites for customer walk‐throughs and to warehouses as needed
- Prepare accurate quotes, invoices, and sales documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing showroom
- Assist with merchandising, product displays, and sample organization
- Follow up with customers regarding quotes, orders, and project timelines
- Collaborate with installers, warehouse staff, and management to ensure smooth project execution
- Meet or exceed monthly sales and customer satisfaction goals
- Stay current on product trends, eco‐friendly materials, and industry innovations
What We’re Looking For
- Associate degree or high school diploma with two years of applicable experience
- Retail, design, or home‐improvement sales experience preferred; flooring experience a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn technical product details and explain them clearly
- Comfortable with measurements, estimates, and basic math
- Organized, reliable, and able to multitask
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift flooring samples (up to 25 lbs)
Work Environment & Schedule
- Retail showroom setting
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Two Saturdays per month, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
