Purpose of Job: The Procurement Analyst intern will support all sourcing activities and initiatives aimed at delivering reliable service for Interstate Batteries’ (interstatebatteries.com) company-owned and independent distributor network. This role will participate in the supply process with our vendors and cross-functional partners. Additionally, the intern will have access to IB leadership for mentoring and coaching opportunities. Job Description: Attend supplier calls and assist on messaging to cross-functional stakeholders Assist on writing network-wide communications regarding status of supply (i.e., supplier delays, gaps in supply, distributor actions on ordering, etc.) Analyze ordering and shipment reports from suppliers to identify potential issues, develop & execute mitigation plans with cross-functional stakeholders, and communicate with distributors/customers Build supplier score cards under the direction of Procurement Insights group Analyze item level supply needs/gaps and identify secondary sourcing options Help document a standard process for new product launches, secondary sourcing, and discontinued parts Qualifications: Analytical, organized, strong interpersonal skills, goal and task oriented Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint Supply Chain Management, Category Management Minimum GPA of 3.0 required Full-time summer hours (up to 40 hrs per week) 10 week commitment (June3rd - August 9th) Must have lodging in the DFW area Note: We do not accept resumes from headhunters, placement agencies, or other suppliers that have not signed a formal agreement with us.
