Packaging Machine Operator

Job Summary

Interstate Bait is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining automated packaging equipment used to fill large pouches of food-grade citric acid in a clean, food-safe manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with machinery, takes pride in producing high-quality products, and understands the importance of food safety, cleanliness, and accurate inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust automated packaging equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Accurately track ingredient inventory, lot numbers, and batch records.
• Ensure packaging meets quality standards and production specifications.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all food safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized production area.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Assist with general production and warehouse duties as needed.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing or packaging equipment experience preferred (training available for the right candidate).
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable learning industrial equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
