Mainframe System Programmer located in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vacancy for a z/OS Systems Programmer whose primary responsibility will include:
- Ongoing maintenance (install, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.
- Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
- The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
- 10 years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
- Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
- Working with an enterprise wide, large scale implementation.
- Excellent communications skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
- Must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, OR 15 years of experience working in the mainframe system programmer field.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
