About InterScripts
InterScripts is a healthcare technology and services company helping health systems modernize operations, improve patient and provider experiences, and maximize the value of their technology investments. Our portfolio includes healthcare data management and application decommissioning through BytePad, Epic and MyChart support, managed IT services, cloud and infrastructure services, cybersecurity, data integration, AI-enabled solutions, application support, and flexible U.S., nearshore, and global delivery models.
Position Overview
InterScripts is seeking an accomplished healthcare IT sales leader with a strong record of selling enterprise technology products, professional services, and managed services to hospitals and health systems.
The Director will develop trusted relationships with healthcare C-suite and senior executives—including CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, CMIOs, CDOs, CFOs, COOs, and technology and operational leaders—and convert those relationships into long-term strategic partnerships.
This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role responsible for generating new business, expanding existing accounts, and managing the complete sales lifecycle. The ideal candidate combines an established healthcare network with consultative selling skills, executive presence, commercial discipline, and the ability to translate complex technology capabilities into measurable business and clinical value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan focused on health systems, hospitals, physician groups, and other healthcare organizations.
- Build relationships with C-suite executives, IT leadership, clinical informatics leaders, operational executives, sourcing teams, and other key decision-makers.
- Generate new opportunities through executive relationships, targeted outreach, industry events, strategic partnerships, referrals, and channel relationships.
- Own the complete sales process—from prospecting and discovery through solution development, proposal, presentation, pricing, contract negotiation, and close.
- Position InterScripts’ healthcare technology products and services, including:
- BytePad data management, legacy application archiving, application rationalization, and system decommissioning
- Epic, MyChart, and Customer Service Desk support
- Healthcare application managed services
- Cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and identity services
- Data integration, interoperability, analytics, automation, and AI solutions
- Healthcare IT consulting, workforce solutions, and scalable delivery models
- Lead executive-level discovery sessions to identify client priorities, operational challenges, technology gaps, and modernization opportunities.
- Develop compelling business cases, value propositions, ROI models, executive presentations, and account-specific solutions.
- Collaborate with InterScripts’ product, delivery, technical, marketing, and executive teams to design solutions that address client requirements.
- Lead responses to RFPs, RFIs, and other formal procurement opportunities.
- Build strategic account plans and identify opportunities to cross-sell and expand relationships across departments, facilities, and service lines.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecast revenue, document activity in the CRM, and provide regular reporting to executive leadership.
- Monitor healthcare technology trends, competitive activity, regulatory priorities, and emerging customer needs.
- Represent InterScripts at healthcare conferences, executive forums, industry associations, and client meetings.
- Help develop client references, case studies, strategic partnerships, and market-facing success stories.
- Consistently achieve or exceed annual bookings, revenue, and pipeline-development goals.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of enterprise technology or professional-services sales experience, including at least five years selling into healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated success selling healthcare IT products, consulting services, managed services, or complex technology solutions.
- Existing relationships with health-system C-suite executives and senior technology decision-makers.
- Proven ability to generate net-new business and close complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise opportunities.
- Experience managing long healthcare sales cycles involving IT, operations, finance, procurement, legal, security, and executive leadership.
- Strong understanding of health-system technology environments, including EHR platforms such as Epic, Oracle Health/Cerner, or MEDITECH.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas: data archiving, application rationalization, managed services, cloud, cybersecurity, interoperability, analytics, AI, digital patient engagement, or healthcare staffing.
- Strong executive communication, presentation, proposal-development, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical capabilities in terms of business outcomes, operational improvement, risk reduction, cost savings, and patient or provider experience.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Ability to travel throughout the United States as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established network within U.S. hospitals and health systems.
- Experience selling to organizations using Epic and other major clinical and enterprise platforms.
- Experience selling both proprietary products and professional or managed services.
- Familiarity with healthcare data privacy, HIPAA, cybersecurity, and enterprise procurement requirements.
- Experience working in a growing healthcare technology company where sales leaders collaborate closely with the CEO, product teams, and delivery leadership.
- MBA or advanced degree.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be:
- A proven healthcare IT “hunter” who can build relationships and create opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
- A consultative seller who listens carefully and develops solutions around customer priorities.
- Comfortable engaging both healthcare executives and technical teams.
- Entrepreneurial, accountable, disciplined, and able to operate with limited supervision.
- Skilled at balancing aggressive revenue growth with long-term customer trust.
- Motivated by building a recognized healthcare technology brand and contributing directly to the growth of InterScripts.
Compensation
InterScripts offers a competitive base salary, performance-based commission, sales accelerators, and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, performance history, and work location.
Work Arrangement
The position may be based at InterScripts’ headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia, or performed remotely within the United States. Remote candidates should be located near a major airport and available for client meetings, conferences, and periodic headquarters visits. InterScripts is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative workplace.
