Job Description And Responsibilities
Removes copper and fluff materials from the moving conveyor system, ensuring efficient operation. Cleans the surrounding areas of the mill and/or Material Recovery Processing (MRP) to maintain a tidy work environment. Additionally, provides support to shredder mechanics by assisting in the replacement of worn-out conveyors and bearing shafts, as well as applying grease to machinery components to ensure they run smoothly.

Job Description And Responsibilities

- The work area is clean and ready to go daily
- Keeps conveyor bearings clean and has grease
- Picks only copper to ensure that quality material is shipped to our customers
- Reports any issues that arise immediately
- Assists shredder mechanics during projects
- Assists in meeting monthly production goals
- Performs other duties as they might be assigned
- Completion of High School and/or equivalent
- Must have reliable transportation, as the site is not accessible by transit
- Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day
- Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
- Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust, odors, fumes, and noise
- Ability to learn and follow directions
- Mechanically inclined
- Self-motivated: Initiates and takes action before being required to do so
- Strong work ethic: uses time efficiently, works safely, and makes sure everyone around him is working safely
- Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken
