We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Sales Planning Manager to support the operational backbone of our US Primary Accounts and Boutique retail channels. This multi-faceted role is responsible for ensuring inventory availability and accuracy across all product categories at key department stores, specialty-multi retailers, and licensing partner boutiques.
Reporting to the Director, Sales Operations, the Sales Planning Manager will serve as a key business partner in helping achieve net shipment and retail sales goals by leading inventory analysis, allocation strategy, and reporting processes. This individual will also play an integral role in driving forecasting accuracy, managing PO flow, and supporting financial tracking efforts.
This position is based in office from Mondays-Thursdays, and remote on Fridays.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Planning & Allocation
- Collaborate with accounts to align on forecasts, replenishment cadence and launch quantities.
- Own end-to-end inventory planning for basic, launch, and promotional SKUs by door, by retailer, with a goal of zero out-of-stocks at point of sale.
- Perform granular sales and stock analysis to ensure accurate and timely replenishment of inventory at all points of distribution.
- Develop and execute equitable and strategic allocation plans for both saleable and no-cost inventory, maximizing focus door opportunities.
- Work with the field force on localized out-of-stock (OOS) discrepancies and develop action plans to correct and communicate resolution paths.
Forecasting & Demand Planning
- Partner closely with the Demand Planning and Sales Operations teams to inform and adjust stock forecasts based on sales trends, retailer feedback, and marketing activity.
- Monitor inventory turnover, stock-to-sales ratios, and door productivity to ensure efficient inventory flow and minimize obsolescence.
- Lead the investment plan and seasonal readiness for new product launches, holiday value sets and promotional events.
Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain, generate, and distribute weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports including:
- Turnover and sell-through analysis
- New launch performance tracking
- Key SKU velocity and category trends
- Serve as subject matter expert for inventory and sales data accuracy, supporting internal stakeholders and the field sales team.
Purchase Order & Logistics Coordination
- Work in tandem with the Global Admin team to manage purchase order (PO) flow, including:
- Timely PO submission and account follow-up
- Accurate and on-time invoicing
- Troubleshooting discrepancies to ensure seamless operations
Financial Support & Compliance
- Support the Sales Director in tracking chargebacks, accruals, P&L, and other financial impacts.
- Ensure transparency and compliance in reporting and documentation tied to retailer spend, promotional budgets, and product allocations.
Process Optimization & Tools
- Utilize business intelligence platforms, ERP systems, and advanced Excel models to streamline planning processes and improve reporting accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, data accessibility, and cross-functional visibility.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in planning, inventory management, or sales operations preferably in the beauty, fragrance, or luxury retail industry.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling) is required; experience with BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Alloy) and ERP systems is preferred.
- Highly analytical with the ability to work at both high-level strategy and granular execution.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
