Intero is seeking an experienced 2nd Level Clinical Documentation Reviewer to support a long-term client engagement. This is an advanced CDI role focused on complex case reviews, documentation quality, denial prevention, and physician education.
We're looking for a highly analytical CDI professional who excels at identifying documentation opportunities and supporting accurate clinical representation.
· Required Qualifications:
Active RN license (BSN preferred)
CCDS credential required
Minimum 5 years of Critical Care nursing experience
Minimum 3 years of Inpatient CDI experience
Experience performing second-level CDI reviews of complex inpatient cases
Strong knowledge of MS-DRGs, severity of illness (SOI), risk of mortality (ROM), quality metrics, and clinical validation
Demonstrated experience with Medicare Advantage denials, appeals, and payer documentation requirements
Experience providing physician education and documentation feedback
Excellent critical thinking, clinical judgment, and analytical skills
Advanced computer proficiency with the ability to navigate multiple clinical and reporting systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Vizient data, quality metrics, and performance improvement initiatives
Experience collaborating with CDI leadership, coding, quality, and case management teams
