Role Description The Digital Twin System Specialist is a contract role based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. The specialist will design, implement, and maintain digital twin models to simulate and monitor sustainable development initiatives across sectors, supporting data-driven decision-making for multistakeholder groups. Daily tasks include gathering and analyzing system requirements, integrating diverse data sources, configuring digital twin platforms, and validating model performance against real-world indicators. The role will collaborate with project managers, domain experts, and partner organizations to translate program needs into scalable digital twin solutions, dashboards, and scenario simulations. The specialist will also document processes, prepare technical reports and presentations, contribute to digital strategy initiatives, and support training and knowledge transfer to internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, systems thinking, and quantitative/qualitative analysis to support digital twin modeling and evaluation.
- Excellent Communication abilities, including clear written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and the capacity to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in Digital Strategy, including aligning digital twin solutions with organizational goals, roadmap planning, and integration with broader ICT initiatives.
- Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, timelines, risk management, and coordination of cross-functional teams in an international or multi-partner context.
- Familiarity with Digital Marketing concepts to support visibility of digital twin initiatives, including presenting outcomes through online channels and digital storytelling.
- Hands-on experience with digital twin platforms, simulation tools, or IoT/data integration technologies (e.g., real-time data pipelines, dashboards, APIs) is highly desirable.
- Background or strong interest in sustainable development, SDGs, or international development programs, preferably with multistakeholder or cross-sector exposure.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
