ISE, a nonprofit high school exchange student organization, is growing its field team in communities across the Kearney area and beyond. We’re looking to interview enthusiastic candidates for our 2027–28 team of Study Abroad and Host Family recruiters.
This is more than just a WFH side job opportunity—it’s a chance to be part of something that changes the way young people see the world. You’ll help American teens discover
new cultures through Study Abroad programs, welcome international high school
students to the United States through 10 month academic homestays, and provide
cultural guidance and support after they arrive.
ISE Representatives work from home, set their own self-determined schedules, meet
interesting people from around the world, and help create life-changing
connections between international students and host families across cultures
and communities. You won’t simply fill a role. You’ll become a local ambassador
for cultural exchange, international education, and global connector. Through
your work, you’ll help build understanding, broaden cultural perspectives, and
bring people from different backgrounds closer together.
Responsibilities
- Represent ISE as the local face and voice of the organization for both inbound high school exchange students and ISE’s Study Abroad Program.
- Build relationships with local high schools, community organizations, families, businesses, and other community partners.
- Promote ISE’s inbound high school student exchange and study-abroad opportunities through local outreach.
- Recruit and screen prospective host families for August-arriving exchange students.
- Conduct an in-person home visit with each prospective host family before the student arrives.
- Serve as the primary local point of contact for ISE regarding host-family placement and student-supervision matters.
- Conduct monthly in-person contact with the host family and exchange student after arrival to help ensure the placement is progressing smoothly.
- Promptly report concerns, challenges, or placement issues to the ISE Regional Manager.
- Attend local events, outreach activities, school meetings, and informational sessions as needed.
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and rewarding experience for international students in the community.
