Production Supervisor

The Supervisor position supports all aspects of the local operations team. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager. This position will act as the first point of contact for any production issues. The main functions of this position will be over seeing the operations and shipping activities of a team of production workers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily activities of the production, weld, shipping and operation teams
• Manage employee’s attendance and hours worked
• Evaluate employee performance
• Utilize and enforce progressive discipline policy as needed
• Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel
• Train and coach new and current employees
• Inspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctions
• Lead all employees in company safety initiatives, foster a safe work environment and enforce/support safety policies and rules
• Understanding of required PPE (how to select and why it is required)
• Exhibit proper donning of PPE daily
• Report safety hazards to supervision/mgt.
• Attend monthly all shop meetings

Requirements

• Three or more years previous supervisory experience in manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to maintain production operations through supervising, planning, scheduling, and monitoring labor productivity
• Previous hands-on experience in steel fabrication, production, or manufacturing
• Knowledge of production tools and equipment
• Experience in Machining and Job Set Up
• Welding knowledge, preferably 3G and MIG
• Strong leadership and coaching skills
• CNC Oxy Fuel Burn machine / Plasma cutting
• Knowledge of manual and mechanical welding techniques
• Shipping and Receiving processes
• Comfort with computers and programs like office and excel
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and resolve issues
• Ability to work any shift is preferred

Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift 70 lbs.
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situation
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
• The Ability to sit and/or stand for a full shift
