Position Overview
The Capture Analyst plays a key role in identifying, qualifying, and shaping new business opportunities within the Information Technology and software consulting space. This role supports the full capture lifecycle—from early opportunity identification through proposal development—by providing market insight, competitive analysis, and strategic positioning. The ideal candidate has hands‑on capture experience, enjoys collaboration, and is ready to grow in a dynamic business development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and qualify new bid and capture opportunities.
- Develop and support capture strategies, including internal and external partnerships, business plans, and associated marketing efforts.
- Review and analyze solicitations to support effective Bid/No‑Bid decisions.
- Participate in capture planning and proposal strategy sessions.
- Analyze solicitation requirements to guide proposal positioning and solution development.
- Perform market research to assess new business opportunities, including customer budgets, required capabilities, customer preferences, competitive landscape, and incumbent strengths and weaknesses.
- Engage with Contracting Officers and Program Managers to understand customer pain points, mission needs, and long‑term technical roadmaps.
- Support the development of SWOT analyses, win themes, and discriminators.
- Contribute to proposal reviews and strategy refinement throughout the capture process.
- Participate in business planning activities, including pipeline reviews, operating plan development, bid agenda development, opportunity gate reviews, and win strategy workshops.
- Support overall strategic planning by aligning capture activities with business development goals for awards, submissions, and pipeline growth.
- Brief senior management on capture status at defined milestones and ensure follow‑through on action items.
- Conduct after‑action reviews to document lessons learned and recommend improvements to capture techniques and strategies.
- Interact effectively with all levels of management, staff, and customers, demonstrating professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in capture management, business development, or a related discipline.
- Specialized training or certification in Business Development, Capture Management, Proposal Management, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or capturing Information Technology opportunities.
- Working knowledge of Federal Multiple Award Contracts (MACs), GSA Supply Schedules, and State contract vehicles.
