Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Sign Estimator to join our diverse team and drive the success of our signage projects. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating sign projects, preparing detailed proposals using our established methods, and collaborating closely with clients, client project managers, and our internal production team to ensure seamless project execution. Your expertise in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and cost evaluation will be vital in delivering high-quality signage solutions on time and within budget. Duties
- Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine material requirements and scope of work for signage projects.
- Utilize estimating software such as Planhub or similar tools to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and internal services.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately assess quantities and specifications necessary for project completion.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their signage needs, negotiate pricing, and clarify project details.
- Manage project budgets by tracking costs throughout the estimating process and implementing cost control measures.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing on materials like sign panels, lighting, mounting styles, and other components.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals and bid packages that meet client expectations while maintaining profitability.
- Follow up with provided estimates daily until turned into jobs or leads.
- Assist client project managers during the bidding process by providing detailed estimates that support project planning and execution.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, correspondence, and project documentation for future reference.
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with customers.
- Solid understanding of managing projects as a construction estimator within the signage or commercial construction industry.
- Expertise in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents related to signage projects.
- Knowledge of construction management software tools
- Ability to review construction drawings thoroughly to estimate material quantities accurately.
- Skilled in cost management techniques including material cost estimating and cost control strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in estimating for commercial construction projects with a focus on signage solutions.
- Strong communication skills for client interactions, presentations, and team collaboration.
- Sign or construction site experience that enhances understanding of on-the-ground project needs and constraints.
- Project management capabilities to oversee multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
