Job Profile
The Instructional Coach and Learning.First Coordinator provides essential support for teachers and academic support to our Pre-1st through 8th Grade students and their families so that all students flourish academically. The Instructional Coach and Learning.First Coordinator facilitates and encourages teacher and student skill development, and the achievement of academic goals. They will work in a highly collaborative environment and partner with students, parents, teachers, and Head of School to effectively support and facilitate teacher and student success. This is a full-time 12-month position.

Responsibilities And Skills Include
Instructional Coaching
- Quality Assurance and Maintaining Brookfield’s High Academic Rigor and Standards
- Provide teachers with coaching to improve instruction to support student learning.
- Create professional development training to support instructional change in classrooms.
- Remain current with accepted and appropriate instructional theory, practice, and research by engage in regular and strategic professional development including local and national seminars and conferences and Learning.First courses via ISP’s Learning Hub.
- Be accountable for the quality of instruction and learning, progress and achievement by the relentless improvement of student outcomes and ISP Learning KPIs, using data (MAP test and Learning Visits) to inform strategy and interventions.
- Partner with teachers to 1) identify effective strategies that meet the needs of students, 2) assist with implementing appropriate classroom and testing accommodations, and 3) provide resources, assistance, advice, and training to help faculty meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Meet with teachers regularly to develop collaborative, proactive, and responsive plans and ensure implementation.
- Participate and support Admissions process
- Lead WASC Accreditation
- Pedagogical leadership in partnership with the Head of School.
- Review school curriculum and material/resources to ensure best practice.
- Champion Academic Achievement through standardized testing data analysis to support student growth goals and school community outcomes.
- Lead, promote and drive ISP’s Learning.First Framework through embedding the Learning Improvement Process (LIP), prioritizing the 5 Key Learning Pillars, leveraging the EdTech tools and the ISP AI toolkit and Professional Learning.
- Drive improvement through evidence-based data, evaluation and teacher development systems.
- Lead the curriculum strategy to ensure relevance, challenge and alignment with student needs, parent priorities and Future Pathways.
- Work in partnership with the Regional Learning Director to drive the improvement of learning and teaching across the school.
- Serve as Student Futures Lead
- School ILOS Coordinator (SCHILOS)
- Driving the school wide initiative for International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS)
- Participate in the regional ILOS community
- Supervise PILOS and ensure they have access to materials and meet key program dates
- Life Competencies Lead
- Drive and support the embedding of Life Competencies through the Brookfield Way across the curriculum and school community
- Futures Framework Lead
- Drive and support the embedding of the Futures Framework across the curriculum and school community
- Support continuous student learning including but not limited to:
- Prioritizing students and their safety and learning first, always.
- Serve in the classroom when a long-term teacher vacancy occurs.
- Proctor assessments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in elementary education, special education or a related field
- Experience working in private school environments preferred.
- Experience in coaching or learning leadership.
- Experience designing and conducting professional development.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students and parents preferred.
- 10 years of classroom teaching experience
