Job Title: Field Service Calibration Technician
Location: San Jose, CA (local travel)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Optional Overtime)
Salary: $28- 35 per hour, depending on experience (DPE)
Company Overview:
International Process Solutions (IPS) supports the pharmaceutical and biotech industries through calibration and preventive maintenance of process equipment, facility systems, utilities, and QC laboratory equipment. IPS is also a factory-authorized OEM representative for multiple lines of pharmaceutical process equipment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking Field Service Calibration Technicians to perform calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance across pharmaceutical, mass, and temperature equipment disciplines.
We have two types of positions available: Embedded Technician: Works onsite at a single customer location, supporting ongoing calibration and maintenance needs. Travel Technician: Field service role requiring 65–75% local travel, using your own vehicle to support multiple client sites.
Responsibilities:
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instruments, including incubators, pipettes, balances, freezers, BSCs, fume hoods, etc.
- Apply measurement science, physics, math, and electronics principles for equipment accuracy.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including filter/lubricant changes and basic mechanical tasks.
- Follow IPS and client SOPs, ensuring documentation is accurate and professional.
- Support quality control in metrology and compliance with international standards.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and management to resolve issues and coordinate solution.
- Identify, document, and report failed components to IPS management and client contacts.
- Travel locally to client sites as needed; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.

Requirements and Skills:
- Proven calibration experience in pharmaceutical, mass, temperature, or electrical equipment.
- High school diploma required, secondary degree or equivalent preferred.
- Military PMEL/TMDE/DOD training and familiarity with ISO 17025 standards preferred.
- Mechanical and/or electronics experience to support calibration and maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and professional presentation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to meet deadlines effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for onsite customer visits and work safely in various environments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, using basic hand and power tools.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.
