We are seeking a detail-oriented and versatile Design and Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the entire product lifecycle, from initial design and prototyping to managing manufacturing processes and quality control. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with plastic injection molding and industrial automation, and be committed to continuous process improvement.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with plastic injection molding machines and processes, as well as a variety of other industrial automation components.
- 1–3 years of experience in the manufacturing of machined parts, component assembly, and injection molded parts.
- 1–3 years of experience in product design, specifically for injection molded products.
- 1–3 years of experience with CAD software, including SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of production processes, quality control, cost analysis, and material properties to maximize manufacturing efficiency.
- Practical, hands-on experience in building small-scale prototypes.
- Ability to design and interpret precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Strong analytical skills to understand how various systems interact and how changes will affect outcomes.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload, and commit to continuous process improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams to set goals and resolve problems.

Key Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Support the design, testing, and prototyping phases for both new and existing products.
- Create 2D drawings for production, define critical quality inspection points, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Assist in injection mold tool design efforts and ensure tools are completed on schedule.
- Create and maintain the master plan layout for all plant facilities.
- Assist in the procurement of new equipment and ensure its seamless integration into the plant layout.
- Support the installation and commissioning of future automation equipment.
- Develop production processes and systems to ensure all products consistently meet or exceed quality control standards.
- Research and test design concepts to determine feasibility, applying methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to support innovation and corrective actions.
- Create and maintain manufacturing process documentation, including flow charts, capacity studies, time studies, and work instructions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and manufacturing, to gain insight and direction.
