The Job You Will Perform
- Purpose:
- The EHS Administrative Assistant position reports directly to the EHS Manager and provides administrative support to the EHS department as well as the Logistics/Traffic area.
- Key Accountabilities:
- Provide clerical support to the EHS department; organizing, tracking, reviewing and filing safety documents including; lockout forms, confined space entry forms, 5S forms, etc.
- Assist in meeting planning/execution.
- Assist during operations outages by helping manage contractor check in/out, provide lockout support and serve as confined space attendant duties as well as fire safety watch duties.
- Perform various administrative tasks to verify accuracy of raw material weights and research associated discrepancies. Correct issues listed on the Mill Exception and Event Log/Verify manual entries performed at scale house.
- Complete safe work observations and serve as administrator for observation tracking tool.
- Key Accountabilities:
- Must be able to work in an industrial environment.
- Must be able to climb stairs, lift various office materials and walk or stand or extended periods of time.
- Computer viewing approximately 75-80% of the time.
- Individual must be able to wear all required safety equipment.
- Must be willing to travel locally to pick up food, supplies, etc.
- Key Knowledge and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Ability to type 50 words per minute
- Fluent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) required. With an emphasis on Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with documentation and control systems.
- Strong organization, follow-up and communication skills.
