What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Maintenance Coordinator-PULP position at International Paper and Careers?
The OMC is tasked with managing the area’s maintenance priorities, and coordinating safe and efficient execution of daily, field day, and annual outage maintenance activities for the Pulp Department areas. This position reports to the Area Process Manager, Pulp.
- Lead daily, weekly, and annual outage MWS planning meetings.
- Coordinate daily and outage maintenance activities for the pulp area, including communication to FLLs/operating crews for operational preparation activities required to safely and efficiently complete planned maintenance tasks.
- Deliver results through GMS based processes and systems, using the mill and company MWS process as a foundation for success
- Interface frequently and establish a strong partnership with the Maintenance Department.
- Manage in a goal-oriented environment to deliver target results in the areas of safety, employee engagement, reliability, cost, quality, and productivity
- Implement reliability excellence initiatives such as work systems, precision maintenance, basic care, and RCFA.
- Build, communicate, and execute consistent operating practices across all shifts.
- Interface with other departments to ensure quality parameters are achieved and maintained.
- Manage area costs and budget achievement, as well as providing support for annual budgeting cycle
- Seek out and implement best practices using teams, databases, vendors, and other technical resources.
- Understand, promote, and deliver results on reliability systems to deliver on year-over-year (YOY) improvement goals for reliability
- Champion 5S principles, personally acting in alignment with 5S as well as participating in audits within the department and also mill wide. Fulfill weekend duty role as needed
- B.S. degree in engineering or related field, or comparable work experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, preferably in pulp industry operations.
- Previous supervisory experience a plus
- Completion of the IP Front Line Leader modules or other leadership development preferred.
