Position Summary:
The Phosphate Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining phosphate coating equipment to treat metal parts according to specifications. This role includes loading and unloading parts, monitoring chemical baths and process parameters, recording essential data, performing routine maintenance, and identifying non-conformances. The Phosphate Operator ensures all work meets quality standards and is performed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Phosphate Operations:
- Operate phosphate coating lines and related equipment according to established procedures.
- Load and unload parts, racks, or barrels safely and efficiently.
- Monitor process tanks, including temperatures, chemical concentrations, and cycle times.
- Adjust process parameters as needed to achieve coating specifications.
Quality Control:
- Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure proper coating coverage and adherence to specifications.
- Identify and report coating defects or non-conformances promptly.
Data Recording:
- Accurately record process data, including chemical levels, temperatures, immersion times, and part counts.
- Maintain logs and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.
Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on phosphate equipment, including tank upkeep and cleaning.
- Monitor chemical levels and assist with replenishment and solution changes as required.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals and use of required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including proper waste handling and disposal.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in manufacturing or chemical processing preferred.
Experience:
1–3 years in a manufacturing environment; prior experience with phosphate coating, plating, or chemical processing is a plus.
Skills:
- Ability to operate industrial equipment safely
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of chemical handling and process monitoring

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $22.50 per hour
