In April 2023, TRATON embarked on an ambitious journey to integrate independent brand Research & Development (R&D) Organizations in Scania, MAN, International, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus into a single global TRATON R&D organization. 

By integrating the capabilities and resources of our brands, we will accelerate the introduction of new technologies and solutions to deliver the most competitive products and solutions to our customers. 

We currently have a great opportunity for an Unit head of EAT - Inlet & Outlet Housing Design on our TRATON USA’s R&D Team.

About the Team

The EAT Exhaust Inlet & outlet Design team leads design and development of inlet/outlet piping, exhaust bellows, and related components for commercial vehicles. Ensures system performance, durability, and compliance with emission and thermal regulations. Oversees validation, supplier coordination, and cross-functional integration with engine and chassis teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the process to design, build and optimize section capacities and capabilities.
• Safeguard ways of working and principles on a unit level (based on global guidelines) and manage escalations within the unit as needed.
• Support Global Section Head to plan resources and capacity within scope.
• Take responsibility for personnel management within local units including recruiting, hiring, sourcing, staffing, developing and replacing personnel.
• Recruit and host Scrum Masters for the flow landscape.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 5 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

• Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 4 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience

OR

• PhD in Engineering , Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 3 years of product design/development and/or computer science experience

Additional Requirements

Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. • Strong understanding of commercial vehicles and their functionalities
• Expertise in project management
• Analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Strong skills in communication and team coordination across global teams (considering different cultural backgrounds) 
• Detail oriented, reliable, pro-active and self-motivated
• Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change

Salary : $140,000 - $210,000
