Environmental Specialist

Position Overview

We're looking for a Environmental Specialist who is passionate about sustainability, compliance, and driving real impact. In this role, you’ll lead day-to-day environmental operations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations—all while partnering with teams across the plant to cultivate a strong environmental culture.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional departments to maintain and improve environmental performance
• Collaborate with Health & Safety to build a strong EHS culture
• Oversee and submit yearly environmental permits (TCEQ, SWPPP, SPCC)
• Coordinate ISO 14001 & 50001 certification efforts
• Facilitate environmental training programs for staff
• Lead the development and execution of environmental strategies and risk mitigation projects
• Conduct environmental assessments and audits
• Work closely with International’s Corporate Environmental Team on North America-wide initiatives
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal policy adherence
• Set and manage environmental performance goals for the facility
• Monitor and report key environmental metrics regularly
• Support Manufacturing 4.0 through continuous improvement initiatives
• Execute and monitor the facility’s Waste Management Plan
• Serve as a liaison with local government organizations

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• At least 2 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility

OR

• Master’s degree

OR

• At least 4 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility

Additional Requirements

• Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

• Degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong background in auditing, compliance, and environmental systems (air, wastewater, chemical & waste management)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Experience with project management
• Positive, proactive mindset with a passion for environmental and community

Salary : $69,600 - $104,400
