Position Overview
We're looking for a Environmental Specialist who is passionate about sustainability, compliance, and driving real impact. In this role, you’ll lead day-to-day environmental operations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations—all while partnering with teams across the plant to cultivate a strong environmental culture.

Responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional departments to maintain and improve environmental performance
- Collaborate with Health & Safety to build a strong EHS culture
- Oversee and submit yearly environmental permits (TCEQ, SWPPP, SPCC)
- Coordinate ISO 14001 & 50001 certification efforts
- Facilitate environmental training programs for staff
- Lead the development and execution of environmental strategies and risk mitigation projects
- Conduct environmental assessments and audits
- Work closely with International’s Corporate Environmental Team on North America-wide initiatives
- Ensure regulatory compliance and internal policy adherence
- Set and manage environmental performance goals for the facility
- Monitor and report key environmental metrics regularly
- Support Manufacturing 4.0 through continuous improvement initiatives
- Execute and monitor the facility’s Waste Management Plan
- Serve as a liaison with local government organizations
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility
OR
- Master’s degree
OR
- At least 4 years of environmental health and safety experience in manufacturing facility
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
- Degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong background in auditing, compliance, and environmental systems (air, wastewater, chemical & waste management)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with project management
- Positive, proactive mindset with a passion for environmental and community
