Job Description: Optics Cleaning Technician
The ideal candidate will be responsible for cleaning and prepping optics for coating. This includes using swabs and lab chemicals to clean parts, loading parts into fixtures for coating, operating ultrasonic cleaning machines, inspecting optics under a microscope, and other duties as seen fit by the lab manager.
Qualifications:
This is a pivotal role that requires the ability to work independently and, on a deadline, to meet production timing. The Cleaning Tech must have good communication skills, and be organized.
Ideal Qualifications:
· Experience using a microscope & measuring tools
· Fine motor skills & dexterity.
· Good communication skills.
· Ability to work independently.
· Flexibility to switch between tasks as needed.
Duties:
· Unpackaging optics.
· Inspecting optics under microscope for defects.
· Cleaning optics under a HEPA hood with soap and water.
· Cleaning optics with IPA, methanol, and acetone.
· Cleaning optics with swabs under a microscope.
· Setting up fixtures to hold Optics.
· Putting optics in coating fixtures.
· Packaging optics.
