Salary Range: $54,000 - $58,000

Purpose:

The Job Developer serves as the primary liaison between the International Institute of Minnesota (IIMN), healthcare employers, and workforce development program participants. This position is responsible for cultivating employer partnerships, identifying employment opportunities, and connecting qualified New Americans to careers within the healthcare industry, with a particular focus on Long-Term Care (LTC), senior care, and allied healthcare occupations.

Working closely with Employment Counselors and Healthcare Career Pathway staff, the Job Developer helps participants successfully transition from training into employment. While Employment Counselors provide direct case management and career coaching, the Job Developer focuses on employer engagement, job placement, and building hiring pipelines that create career opportunities for program participants.

The Job Developer plays a critical role in strengthening Minnesota's healthcare workforce by expanding employer partnerships, increasing employment placements, and supporting retention and career advancement for New American workers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Employer Partnership Development (45%)

· Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with healthcare employers, including Long-Term Care providers, assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, clinics, home care agencies, and other healthcare organizations.

· Conduct ongoing outreach to employers to identify hiring needs, workforce shortages, and emerging employment opportunities.

· Establish and maintain a network of employer partners that provide recurring employment opportunities for Healthcare Pathway participants.

· Coordinate employer presentations, facility tours, hiring events, on-site interviews, and recruitment activities.

· Collaborate with employers to develop customized hiring pipelines and workforce solutions that address staffing needs.

· Promote the value of hiring multilingual and internationally trained talent and support employers in implementing effective retention strategies.

Job Placement and Workforce Development (35%)

· Partner with Employment Counselors to identify job-ready participants and match qualified candidates with healthcare employment opportunities.

· Facilitate participant referrals to employers and coordinate interviews, hiring events, and recruitment activities.

· Support participants through the hiring and onboarding process to improve employment outcomes and retention.

· Track participant progress from referral through placement and retention milestones.

· Collaborate with instructors, Employment Counselors, and workforce staff to ensure participants are prepared for employment opportunities and aligned with employer expectations.

Collaboration with Community-Based Organizations (10%)

· Coordinate and participate in networking meetings with community-based organizations (CBOs), workforce partners, and training providers serving New American job seekers and healthcare employers.

· Develop and maintain a resource directory of organizations providing complementary employment, training, and support services.

· Facilitate referrals and collaboration among partner organizations to improve participant access to workforce development opportunities.

· Share best practices and labor market information with workforce partners to strengthen healthcare and Long-Term Care career pathways.

Alumni Engagement and Support (10%)

· Support engagement efforts for graduates of IIMN's Healthcare Pathway programs, including outreach related to employment, retention, and career advancement opportunities.

· Assist in maintaining an active network of healthcare pathway alumni and employer partners.

· Coordinate and support alumni events, networking opportunities, and professional development activities.

· Promote advancement opportunities within healthcare and Long-Term Care occupations through ongoing communication with graduates.

· Provide retention support and connect alumni to resources that help them navigate workplace challenges and pursue career growth.

Requirements:

· Strong commitment to IIMN’s mission and vision.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse cultural contexts.

· Experience working with employers or workforce development programs, preferably in healthcare or immigrant services.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with employers and community organizations.

· Familiarity with the challenges faced by New Americans in the workforce, with a focus on employment retention and career advancement.

· Experience delivering training or educational programs is preferred.

· Access to reliable transportation for employer site visits.

Physical Demands:

· Frequent driving to employer sites and community events; requires access to reliable transportation.

· Ability to sit for extended periods while performing general office duties, such as using a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment.

· Occasional lifting and carrying of materials (e.g., training materials, event setup) up to 25 pounds.

· Visual and auditory acuity required for reading, writing, and communicating effectively.
