Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Stone Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw stone materials into finished products that meet precise specifications and quality standards. Your expertise in fabrication, use of hand and power tools, and adherence to safety protocols will ensure the production of beautiful, durable stone surfaces for a variety of applications. Responsibilities
- Operate fabrication equipment, including saws, grinders, polishers, and other power tools, to cut, shape, and finish stone materials according to blueprint specifications.
- Measure and mark stone surfaces accurately using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure precise cuts and fits.
- Follow detailed blueprints and technical drawings to execute complex fabrication tasks with accuracy.
- Handle heavy stone materials safely using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment such as forklifts or material carts.
- Apply finishing techniques such as polishing, grinding, and sealing to achieve desired surface textures and appearances.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering strictly to safety standards and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
- Collaborate with team members during assembly processes and ensure all work meets quality control standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or related fields with a focus on stone or similar materials.
- Ability to operate hand tools such as chisels, grinders, drills, and measuring devices effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation and maintenance is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with safety regulations including PPE use, respiratory protection, heavy lifting procedures, and general safety protocols in production environments.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience working with power tools and machining equipment used in stone fabrication or millwork.
- Strong attention to detail for dimensional measurements and following blueprint specifications.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly while maintaining safety standards.
- Construction experience or background in materials handling will be considered an asset.
