Position Summary

The Education & Program Manager is responsible for the design and delivery of education and talent programs that offer Association members learning and professional development opportunities that address topics of interest to their company, the industry and their ongoing professional development at all stages of their careers.  Programs include, but are not limited to, in-person, online and other forms, designed according to audience, topic, and learning objectives and outcomes.

 

Position Responsibilities

Educational Program Development – 70 %


  1. Design, execute, and manage education and talent programs, with a specific focus on high-quality, engaging, differentiated educational and talent development offerings that exceed participant expectations. This includes managing logistics and budgets associated with these programs.

  2. Collaborate with internal and external partners, including but not limited to, Association and industry subject matter experts, volunteer committees, members, to identify needs for target audiences associated with each offering.

  3. Provide input into the strategic direction and development of educational and talent development programs.

  4. Actively and routinely evaluate education programs and processes to inform program and educational portfolio development to ensure programs meet objectives, serving member needs and interests and Association goals.

  5. Explores and recommends innovative ways to deliver content for all assigned offerings, including, but not limited to, integration of content across delivery platforms to extend reach and enhance impact and value to members.

 

Relationship/Partnership Building and Administration – 20%

  1. Manage logistics and budgets associated with assigned programs/events, participating in annual program and business planning activities, as assigned.
  2. Responsible for helping to keep education and talent programs top of mind for staff at all applicable times and for seeking opportunities for enhanced communication, teamwork, and collaboration between internal teams.
  3. Builds and maintains positive, ongoing relationships with staff contributors, members, volunteers, and external organizations.

  4. Provide consultative services to other functional areas as an expert in delivering content to in-person and virtual audiences, and development of on-demand content.
  5. Participates in staff meetings/groups by engaging and providing insights and expertise from the development to the execution stage.
  6. Informs Education and Talent Director of issues that need attention and makes time-sensitive decisions when needed.

  1. Enhance and expand on personal competencies and job-related skill sets through continued education to stay abreast of trends and shifts in the education space
  2. Attends professional meetings, workshops, and seminars to expand personal and business competencies.

  3. Demonstrates commitment to company culture and competencies.
  4. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of education design and industry trends and issues and apply to program design and development.



Miscellaneous Position Information

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Bachelor’s Degree required 

  • Has 2-3 years of experience in content/ training development and execute preferred.

  • Understanding of education design, including adult learning principles and knowledge of current practices in content design and delivery
  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making, as well as the ability to work independently with little supervision 
  • Demonstrates
    critical thinking and project management skills with an ability to execute quickly and accurately.  

  •  Possesses high degree of initiative and ability to work in a startup environment. 

  • Experience developing and extending educational content across multiple delivery platforms and audience touchpoints.

  • Strong understanding of digital learning engagement strategies and content lifecycle management.

  • Ability to translate educational programming into scalable year-round content experiences.

  • Experience leveraging audience insights and engagement data to optimize learning outcomes and participation.

  • Familiarity with multimedia content development, virtual learning technologies, and on-demand education platforms.

  • Strong editorial, storytelling, and content planning skills.

 

Measures for Success

  • Contribute to year-round value portfolio by creating relevant, global/universal and differentiated educational content that exceeds participant expectations.
  • Achieve at least 4 out of 5 rating on evaluations.   
  • Communication of information among staff and volunteers is clear, appropriate, detailed, and timely.
  • Meets deadlines for plan development, communications, budget process and meet budget goals.

 

 

Travel

5-7 trips per year

This position is remote with headquarters in Washington DC
