Position Overview
The Sanitation Technician is responsible for servicing, cleaning, and maintaining portable restrooms and restroom trailers to ensure they are clean, sanitary, and ready for customer use. This role involves operating a commercial service vehicle, following assigned routes, maintaining equipment, and delivering reliable service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and sanitize porta potties and restroom trailers.
- Thoroughly clean and prepare restroom units before delivery or use by new customers.
- Follow assigned routes and complete scheduled service stops efficiently.
- Safely operate the service vehicle, equipment, and associated controls.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate vehicle inspection reports and route documentation.
- Keep the vehicle, equipment, and work area clean and in safe operating condition.
- Identify and report vehicle maintenance needs, equipment issues, and safety concerns.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service at job sites.
- Follow all company policies and applicable local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class B license or higher.
- Required air brake endorsement.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a commercial service vehicle and related equipment.
- Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and attention to detail.
- Good time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with sanitation services, including lifting, bending, and handling service equipment.
- Previous commercial driving, sanitation, or waste collection experience is a plus.
Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to safety are encouraged to apply.
