What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doping Control Officer position at International Doping Tests & Management?
IDTM is seeking for persons who would like to work as doping control officers (DCO).
DCOs are responsible for organising an anti-doping mission, the collection of a urine/blood sample, recording the sample collection, and shipping the samples to a WADA accredited or approved laboratory.
The basic requirement is the ability to travel and to speak and write in English. A DCO should be: a problem solver, able to cope with stress, trustworthy, precise, a person with leadership skills, i.e. polite and friendly, yet assertive. Being a certified blood collector/phlebotomist is considered an advantage.
Knowledge and experience in anti-doping testing are not required but the willingness to learn new skills is a must. IDTM will provide free of charge theoretical and practical training courses to become a certified DCO according to international standards.
DCO position is not a full-time job and doping control assignments can vary greatly from time to time. The DCO payment is per mission and the fee depends on the samples collected, location, and type of test.
