Duties and Responsibilities
Aviation Requirements Development and Technical Writing Refine Aviation requirements for Army Special Operations Aviation aircraft (rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and Unmanned Systems), to include technical writing of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and Special Operations Forces Capabilities Integration and Development System (SOFCIDS) documents such as Capability Development Documents. Perform technical editing for JCIDS/SOFCIDS documentation and monitor and make recommendations throughout the milestones of a program development.
FLRAA Requirements Monitoring and Stakeholder Engagement Enable the G-5/8/9 to monitor and update SOF-Aviation Requirements by analyzing SOF-peculiar analysis and serving as a point of contact between United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE), Department of the Army Management Office – Aviation (DAMO-AV), Capability Program Executive - Aviation (CPE-AV), Portfolio Acquisition Executive – Maneuver Air (PAE-MA) and various echelons of Special Operations organizations. Provide SOF-peculiar feedback to Aviation-related experimentation, Army and Joint concepts, and JCIDS/ SOFCIDS documents. Participate in meetings and symposia, to include requirements workgroups, wargames, modeling and simulation (M&S), Operational Analysis (OA), and Family of Systems (FoS) requirements IPT working groups, including associated staffing products and requirements documentation.
Requirements Staffing and Joint Validation Refine and assist in the staffing and validation of SOF Aviation requirement documents through Joint Staff approval. Conduct analysis, analysis refinement, and develop required staffing products for Joint stakeholders.
Senior Leader Engagement Routinely interact with and support senior leaders—including general officers, senior executives, and senior Joint and SOF staff—throughout the requirements development and validation process. Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, read-aheads, decision papers, and talking points to inform senior-level decisions. Represent the organization and senior leadership in requirements forums, IPTs, working groups, and symposia, and synthesize outcomes into concise decision-support materials. Communicate complex technical and programmatic information clearly and concisely, facilitate coordination and consensus among senior stakeholders across USAACE, DAMO-AV, Joint Staff, and Special Operations organizations, and ensure senior leader priorities, guidance, and intent are reflected throughout requirements documentation and staffing efforts.
