JOB DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance Mechanic performs a full range of assignments including but not limited to the installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and inspection of all Facilities and Production equipment. This individual will provide support for mechanical conveying systems, pneumatically powered baking equipment, electrical control systems, PLC’s, Variable Frequency Drives, HMIs and HVACR units.

JOB DUTIES

· Performs related work as assigned, completing tasks in an efficient, timely and professional manner.

· Follows projects and assignments through to completion.

· Communicates with management and mechanical team any preventative issues or future potential complications observed.

· Work independently of managerial supervision to complete assigned tasks, make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices when necessary.

· Give feedback on methods to improve efficiencies and safety while reducing costs within the facility

· Conducts “Pre-Flight” checkout of operating systems prior to start-up of the line

· Ability to work safely, adhering to GMP and company policies.

· Maintains and follows area Good Manufacturing and Food Safety Practices (Including Maintenance Areas).

· Maintain and update required records and filing systems as necessary.

· Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs equipment such as mixers, conveyors, bowl lifts, proofers, freezers, refrigerators, ovens (rack & tunnel), pan washers, flour systems, spraying systems, water heaters, steam boilers, air compressors, and air conditioning equipment.

· Experienced and knowledgeable of various hand and power tools and their applications. Ensures their proper use, care, and storage.

· Installs, services, and repairs electric motors, heaters, coolers, condensate and circulating pumps.

· Replaces VFDs, Overloads, Proxi. Sensors, fuses, light bulbs, circuit breakers, electric switches, fans and other electrical equipment following electrical specifications.

· Moves and replaces machinery and auxiliary apparatus using hand and electric trucks, fork lifts, and dollies.

· Services, repairs and operates motor vehicles (Delivery Trucks).

· Work closely with all employees motivating and developing team skills.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong work ethics, ability to work and problem solve independently

· Knowledge of the accepted practices, processes, materials, and tools of maintenance trades.

· Working knowledge of PLC's, VFD's and HMI's

· Knowledge of electric motors, generators, pumps, pressure systems, water systems and fire protection systems and other equipment found in facility.

· Knowledge of servicing and maintenance of simple power, heating, and cooling units.

· Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals in facility

· Ability to do routine mechanical and electrical maintenance and care for tools and equipment.

· Ability to work from sketches, drawings and blueprints.

· The job duties require an employee to bend, reach, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.

· The job duties require an employee to climb ladders.

EDUCATION

· Associates degree and/or Technical School certification or equivalent training,

· Experience is critical but Formal training and correct aptitude may be regarded as a substitute for some experience

EXPERIENCE

· 5-10 years’ experience in a fast-paced production environment, preferably in the food industry

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
