General Function: The Shipping and Receiving operations leader is a working/hands-on position that assists in managing the shipping and receiving department's daily activities. Provides leadership, direction, and motivation to the team to successfully and effectively accomplish operational goals and ensure optimum performance.
Job Duties:
Receives, moves, and ships materials in a warehouse setting by unloading trucks, verifying shipments against purchase orders, using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move goods, stocking inventory, picking orders, and maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing items.
Key duties also include inspecting goods for damage, preparing packages for shipment, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and communicating effectively with colleagues and Schedules appropriate transportation as needed for incoming or outgoing deliveries.
Responsible for resolving all issues of receipt or shipment as the situation presents itself and producing appropriate records to verify the items' location in question.
Ensures proper packaging, documentation, weights, dimensions, and shipping method is correct before the package leaving the facility.
Responsible for managing limited warehouse footprint for efficient material flow, including timely movements of raw materials and finished products within and between the production and storage facilities.
Working Conditions:
Plant environment with fluctuating temperatures. Standing and walking up to 100% of work time; pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and some stooping
Education/Experience: High school diploma required; 3 years experience in logistic and shipping.
Minimum of two years forklift experience
