Low Voltage Installation Technician
Full-Time | Extensive Travel Required (80–100%)
ICS is a low-voltage electrical systems integration company seeking an experienced Low Voltage Installation Technician to join our team. Position Overview
This role involves extensive travel—up to 80–100%, including out-of-state assignments. You will install, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage communication systems in both occupied healthcare facilities and new construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install low-voltage communication systems in healthcare and commercial facilities
- Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper cabling (CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A)
- Dress cable trunks and terminate cables on patch panels
- Install support structures such as ladder racks, j‑hooks, and equipment racks
- Install systems including nurse call, RFID monitoring, HVAC controls, surveillance, and access control
- Work independently and as part of a team while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
Requirements
- 1 year of experience installing low-voltage systems in commercial environments
- Healthcare project experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of network cabling installation and color codes (T568A/B)
- Proficiency with hand and power tools; ownership of basic telecom tools and PPE
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comfortable traveling up to 100% of the time
- Basic computer skills including M365; project management experience is a plus
- OSHA certification, BICSI knowledge or certification, and other relevant licenses are a plus
- Must be self‑motivated, dependable, and capable of meeting deadlines
